The Proto HD X Wide Snowboard is where Never Summer puts its newest snowboard technologies. This year they put a special elastomeric pad just under the base at the center of the board. It's perforated to reduce weight, but the real reason it's there is to reduce vibration from rough conditions or harsh landings. The new Low Profile Tip and Tail are closer to the snow than standard snowboards, increasing overall board contact in deep snow for better float, and reducing the "snow plow" effect regular boards get on groomers. A mid-range flex makes the Proto HD versatile fun on the groomers and the park alike.
