The All-Terrain Rocker on the K2 Rictor Ski System makes these men's skis versatile enough to handle all sorts of conditions. If you get precious little time in the mountains and you want to be sure that you take the right ski out every time, the K2 Rictor is a solid choice. At 80 underfoot the Rictor is agile but not strictly frontside, and with blended camber and rocker you get good strong edgehold at the high speeds this ski was designed for, and easily navigated turns.

"I'm nearly 6'4 and 220 lbs - advanced skier but broke my knee couple of years ago so don't go as fast or hard as I used to. Hear the Rictors "ski short" and trying to decide between the 174s or 181s. I ski mostly groomed runs but would like to venture into off piste more and have good cofidence of control in bumps, chopped up bumps on days with new snow. Any advice?"

"For an advanced skier I would definitely recommend the 181. To be really careful with your knee, I can recommend some really awesome bindings that will really help the any re-injury. Check them out:

"Love my recons but need new skis. I'm 5'11", 190lbs and have the 170s which I like but sometimes feel short so I ski my friends 177 recons (we have the same exact boots and size) and those feel great too but sometimes not as easy to carve as the 170s- I'm not honestly sure which I like more... I ski blue's fast and like to carve on edge if the snow is good (I can carve edge to edge well but if the snow gets choppy then I get uneasy). I usually ski groomers, if the snow gets deep I'm on my snowboard! I don't really do moguls but can go down anything, just slide my turns on the blacks so I don't pick up too much speed and feel out of control. Do you recommend the Charger or Rictors and the 174 or 181? Thanks!"

"The Rictor 174 is a great choice. It offers blended rocker/camber technology so they will be super easy to turn. The 181 would be too long unless you are riding on powder most of the time."

"These ski's are for more advanced riders. They come with Marker MX12 bindings. This is really great for backcountry skiing or off-piste skiing!"

"The bindings do not come attached to the ski. You have to take the ski and the binding into a local store to have them mounted. They will fit the binding to your boot in the store to insure a perfect fit!"

I'm an Intermediate skier and I'm looking at the Rictor & Shockwave. Would you recommend one over the other for me. Also what size do you suggest, I'm 5' 7" 185lbs. I was thinking 167 for the rictor and 170 for the shockwave since they don't offer 167 in shockwave.

"Either ski would be OK but I would recommend the Rictor over the Shockwave. It's slightly heavier underfoot, giving you more versatility on the mountain. For the Rictor, go with the 167. Another option to check out is the i.Peak 78 in size 171. "
