The upper section of the bib is fleece, and it acts like an extra layer of insulation. You'll love Jupa's Grow Cuffs, which lengthen by 2" when she grows. "All waterproof garments have different ratings that indicate how waterproof they are. No garment is 100% waterproof because if it was it wouldn't breathe and you would get very cold very quickly. This ski suit is 5K waterproof which is really reliable for kids under normal conditions. In fact, I've never had a complaint of these suits not keeping kids dry. The only time you might need to look for something more waterproof is if your child would stay out for prolonged periods skiing in the rain. Otherwise, she should be perfectly comfy and cozy in this suit. Size 8 is the largest size these suits come in. "
