That's because it uses Thermo Shell Construction to give you a board that's buoyant and lively due to the EPS core, but more durable than normal like a compression molded board. And that's a good thing because you'll want this board to last forever with a Swallow Tail shape and Twin Fin setup giving you great turn-in performance while still giving you the stability to dig in a rail while turning into the wake.
